WACF Bird Walk – April 27th – 8:00 AM- Levinson-LaBrosse Education Center

The Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation will be holding a bird walk starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Levinson-LaBrosse Education Center, 11586 N. SR 13, Syracuse. Birding experts Suzanne Beyeler and Amanda Heltzel will be leading a guided stroll through the WACF’s trails to spot birds and identify their calls.

Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather in waterproof shoes or boots and bring along their binoculars, cameras, and bird identification books or apps.

This is a free event. Register at wacf.com/event/bird-walk/ so organizers can plan accordingly.

Color Run – April 27th -10:00 AM – 1:00 PM – Winona Lake Limitless Park, Winona Lake

Living Hope Ministries Youth Movement is hosting its first off-road run/walk to raise money for JAM Revival Rally (August 31st). Registration is open and early registration includes a tee shirt and an extra color pack. The path is 2.2 miles long. Food will be sold after the run.

Koinonia Community Day – April 27th – 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM – Koinonia Environmental and Retreat Center

Manchester University’s environmental studies, peace studies, and education departments will host Community Day at Koinonia Environmental and Retreat Center on Saturday, the 27th.

Community Day will bring environmental education and outdoor exploration to community members, families, and local educators. The event will have activities for children, a community meal, live music, and education sessions. Education sessions are open to community members and local educators and will include a certificate of completion from the MU Department of Education.

The event will last from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., but participants are not required to stay for the entire duration. Koinonia Environmental and Retreat Center is located just off SR 13 at 6147 S. 650E, Pierceton.

Hobbits and Fairies – April 27th – 7:00 PM – Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts, Warsaw

Symphony of the Lakes will present “Hobbits and Fairies” at the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts on April 27, at 7 pm. Music from Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is a musical composition created by Howard Shore and orchestrated by John Whitney. Mendelssohn: Incidental Music from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Op. 61 is a musical composition by Felix Mendelssohn, inspired by William Shakespeare’s play of the same name.
