The Lakes Area Players has partnered with the Quaker Haven Camp located on the shores of Dewart Lake in Syracuse, Indiana for our main productions. The Activities Center at Quaker Haven is a beautiful location for our plays and dinner theaters, and we enjoy the working relationship that we have with Quaker Haven Camp.
The Madrigal Dinner is an evening set in another time and another place. You’ll find yourself in the center of a make-believe world alive with jesters, minstrels, and singers as you reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. This production is normally held two weekends in early December.
Christ’s Passion is a musical drama portraying the events that unfolded during the time of Passover in Jerusalem nearly 2000 years ago. It follows the footsteps of Jesus from His Triumphal Entry into the city; His teachings and healings near the Temple; sharing the Passover supper with the Disciples; His arrest and trial; the crucifixion; and resurrection on what we now call Easter Sunday. This production is normally held the weekends before Easter.
We are a Christian Theatrical Group that promotes positive messages through drama and music. Currently we have two productions in the form of Madrigal Dinner that is performed at Christmas and Christ’s Passion, which is performed during Holy Week and Easter. We also are involved in mystery dinner theatres and have a singing ensemble as well. We are working on ideas for other productions to be revealed within the next few years.
