The Winona History Center tells the story of beautiful Winona Lake from 1895 – 1968. The museum includes four galleries located within historic Westminster Hall on the campus of Grace College. Visitors will learn about the development of Spring Fountain Park, Winona’s significance as a Chautauqua site, the energetic evangelist Billy Sunday, and gospel music pioneer Homer Rodeheaver. Stop in for a tour of the amazing, celebrity-filled history of Winona Lake! Tours of the museum, self-guided or otherwise, take about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Researchers can also access various collections in the archives, although appointments to see archival materials should be prearranged by contacting Karen Birt, Coordinator of the Winona History Center, at birtks@grace.edu.
Visitors to the museum can also arrange a tour of the original home of Billy Sunday and his family, which is just a short walk from Westminster Hall. Tours of the Billy Sunday Home are given by a tour guide, and usually take about 30 minutes.
Walk in hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 2:00 – 5:00 pm (If these times do not work, please contact us to schedule an individual appointment.) All ages are welcome. The museum and the first floor of the Sunday home are accessible to those with disabilities.
