This is lake country, so on-the-water recreation options are abundant.

Before diving in, step into American Table, voted the area’s “best breakfast” restaurant in 2018. Try well-regarded standard fare or go decadent with strawberry stuffed pecan almond pancakes.

Burn off the extra calories on Winona Lake or Pike Lake with a relaxing kayak float or a stand-up paddle board. The Lake House in Winona Lake rents kayaks and stand up paddle boards for the day or hour and will even deliver one to your location.

Refuel at Oak and Alley for a delicious burger. A massive hamburger, topped with a variety of ingredients, and a pretzel bun.

Next stop? North Webster and an afternoon of muskie fishing with guide Chae Dolson, owner of Webster Lake Guide Service. He has successfully chased these monster fish for over 25 years.

Pilcher Shoes is another must stop in North Webster, especially for hard-to-fit shoe sizes.

Visit other quaint shops before a patio dinner at Lakeview Restaurant & Pizza King.

Then jump aboard the Dixie Sternwheeler, which once served Lake Webster residents as a floating grocery, blacksmith shop and mail carrier before switching to cruises in 1929.

Top off the day with a dish of hand-dipped ice cream at Sheila’s Sweet Treats & Diner.
